PSO Oklahoma maintains the power grid in Oklahoma. Their goal was to be top in the search results for searches relating to Oklahoma’s power. They wanted to be the authority leader, make their outage map easy to find, make their portal easy to find, and serve their customers through digital means. They needed SEO to make this happen.
I reviewed and audited the PSO website and gave them a list of recommendations to improve their site. We noticed a lack of very important keywords to make the site rank.
I worked closely with their developer to optimize images, improve the semantic HTML, minify the JS, CSS, and HTML, improve the meta descriptions and title tags, and restructure their blog pages.
We used Google Search Console and Ahfres to create a content plan for PSO. We saw a lot of value in keywords like “power outages in OK” and “pay power bill online”. The blogs that worked best were instructional blogs that made things clear in a step-by-step format.
